Full Form : Oriental Insurance Company Limited. A a leading Public Sector General Insurance Company and wholly owned by Government of India. OICL (Oriental Insurance Company Limited) is a government-owned general insurance company established on 12th September 1947. Its head office is located in New Delhi. It operates under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and has 29 regional offices across the country.

Mode of Examination for OICL Assistant Recruitment: Online Mode

Since clerical recruitment is done State/UT-wise, candidates can apply for jobs in only one State or Union Territory. They must take the online exam in a centre from that same State/UT, as decided by Oriental Insurance Company Limited. For example, if someone applies for a job in Rajasthan, they must take the exam in Rajasthan and will be considered for a job only in Rajasthan.

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD and Ex-servicemen are applicableas per prevailing Government of India rules. Vacancies reserved for OBC category are available to OBC candidates belonging to “Non-Creamy layer”. “Creamy layer” OBC candidates should indicate their category as “UR”.

Eligibility for OICL Assistant Recruitment

AGE (as on 31 July 2025)
Minimum Age: 21 years; Maximum Age: 30 Years
(as on 31 July 2025). Candidates born not earlier than 31.07.1995 and not later than 31.07.2004(both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Relaxation in Age Limit :

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe – 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 years

Education Qualification (as on 31.07.2025)

  • Candidate must have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Equivalent qualifications approved by the Central Government are also accepted.
  • Must have passed English as a subject at SSC, HSC, Intermediate, or Graduation level.
  • Should have a certificate as proof of passing the qualifying exam on or before 31st July 2025.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for OICL Assistant Exam will consist of a Preliminary and Mains Exam followed by regional language test.

  • Preliminary Exam( Tier 1 ): Objective type Test.
    • Mode of Exam : Online
    • No of Questions : 100
    • Maximum Marks : 100
  • Mains Exam ( Tier 2 ): Objective type Test
    • Mode of Exam : Online
    • No of Questions : 200
    • Maximum Marks : 250
    • Duration for Exam : 120 min
  • Regional Language Test :
    • After successfully clearing Mains examination. The Regional Language Test will be of qualifying nature only.

Penalty for Wrong Answers

  • Wrong attempted question : one forth of the mark alloted to that question.

Documents required for Appearing in the Examination

  • Valid Call Letter
  • Photo Identity Proof in Original and photocopy of the same.
  • Ration Card and Learner Driving License will not be accepted as valid id proof for this Recruitment process.

Application Fees

  • SC/ST/PWD/EX-SER : Rs. 100/- (Inclusive GST)
  • All Candidates other than SC/ST/PWD/EX-SER : Rs. 850/- (Inclusive GST)

Probation Period after Joining

  • New employees will be on probation for at least 6 months.
  • Before the 6 months end, the company will check their performance.
  • If performance is not good, the probation period may be extended.
  • If an employee resigns during probation, or
  • If the company removes the employee during probation,
  • Then the employee must pay back:
    • The full salary they got from the company, and
    • ₹25,000 for training cost.
  • Any bond or agreement with the old employer will not be valid here.
  • The company will not give any leave, salary, or pension contribution during this time.

Emoluments & Benefits (Salary and Perks)

  • Pay Scale (Old rates) starts at:
    ₹22,405 with yearly increases as per levels.
    It goes up step-by-step to ₹62,265.
  • Starting Salary (Pre-revision):
    Around ₹40,000 per month in metro cities.
    This may change based on location.

List of Required Documents

  • Call Letter – Printed copy of your Regional Language Test Admit Card.
  • Online Application Form – Printout of the form you filled for the exam.
  • Proof of Birth Date – Any one of:
  • Birth Certificate (from municipal office), or
  • 10th Class Marksheet or Certificate showing your DOB.
  • Photo ID Proof – Original and photocopy of any valid Photo ID (like Aadhar, PAN, Driving License, Passport, etc., as per the exam ad).
  • Education Certificates – Marksheets and certificates of Graduation / 12th class / Equivalent.
  • Your result should be declared on or before 31.07.2025. Get a proof from your college/university/board.
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable) – If you are SC/ST/OBC, bring your valid caste certificate in the Govt. format.
  • OBC Candidates Special Note – Your OBC certificate must mention that you are NOT in creamy layer.The certificate must be valid on the date of online application.
  • Your caste name must exactly match with the Central Govt. list. If your caste is not in the Central list or you are in the creamy layer, then you will be considered under General category. Mention this in your form.
